- You wake up at 3 am to go to the bathroom and stop to check your E-mail on the way back to bed.

- You turn off your computer and get this awful empty feeling, as if you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

- You spend half of the plane trip with your laptop on your lap and your child in the overhead compartment.

- You laugh at people with dialup.

- You start using smileys in your snail mail.

- You can’t talk to your mother because she doesn’t have internet.

- You don’t know what gender three of your closest friends are, because they have neutral screennames and you never bothered to ask.

- You start tilting your head sideways to smile.

I signed up a year ago to be notified via e-mail whenever Verizon got around to bringin DSL to my neighborhood. The end of the network is only half a mile away.

My problem is that I can’t get through to a human being by phone to find out WHEN this might be happening.

Our cable provider really sucks and is too expensive. But dialup is ridiculously slow.

Does anyone have a phone number to reach someone in DSL at Verizon–other than the 800 number(s) in the DSL ads? I’ve tried those and every time, the recorded message says to call back because they’re too busy. There’s no option to wait for an agent.

Thanks for any advice or info someone might have.

My husband and I have different yahoo e-mail addresses. As of yesterday neither of us can log onto Yahoo to get access our e-mail. We get a message that says “The page cannot be displayed” Then it lists some suggestions, none of which worked. At the bottom it says “Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer.” I had no problem when using my ID and password to log onto this site! Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

I use Outlook Express to read newsgroups as well as e-mail. Recently, I learned that my e-mail server will no longer be supporting newsgroups, and as a result, I feel they aren’t worthy of my money any more.

This is especially true since I have cable internet and only pay the monthly fee in order to keep the e-mail address and access to my newsgroup forums.

What other servers are out there for free that I can use for my e-mail? I’d still like to read my newsgroups.
I live in Texas. I have an ISP, but it does not come with any e-mail addresses.

All I need is an e-mail account I can use with OE that also allows me to access my usenet groups through OE.
