I am posting for an issue with my husband’s laptop. He has a Toshiba Satellite Laptop and recently it started acting up. If he hasn’t used it in a while, it will start right up and works perfectly for an hour, sometimes more… then it starts acting up. Example: he will be using the internet just fine for a while then he will click on the address bar to go to a website and it will just start typing letters, a random pattern of I, O, and U. He will then turn off the computer and turn it back on and when it gets to the Toshiba screen it will just beep and not go any further. He has tried cleaning the keys and he popped those keys off to clean them, but it hasn’t helped. He said that it doesn’t look like they are stuck though. Any thoughts?

Access to some source of information (Internet) is banned internally from Iran by gov. Why should the sanctions against Iran from foreign countries include information and IT sections for example disabling Iranians from downloading free software, free registrations, free Internet Browser Plug-ins, etc.

That is really another pain. What would you do if you face such restrictions.

I am looking into getting a wireless notebook computer soon…I am BRAND new to this, and need to know how it works. I need to be able to access the internet while I am out and about. Do I have to rely on wi-fi hotspots, or is there another way??? (For example, when traveling, do I plug into the phone/internet line, or can I still be wireless??)
Okay…but is there a way to go about this WITHOUT using a cell phone??? That gets WAAAY too expensive too handle.
For anyone else who tries to answer my question …I WOULD PREFER NOT TO USE A CELL PHONE. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?? I don’t exactly want to end up paying $50 or so for a few minutes on the net…

Recently, on some web pages, my browser has been displaying odd characters (an a with a ^ over it, for example) in place of apostrophes (‘). Any idea what could be causing this, or better, what I can do to fix it? Can anyone go to my website: http://www.maverick83.150m.com , scroll down to the poem, and in the first line, tell me if the word “you’ll” is displaying properly for you?
jibberjabbar – Thanks! That actually did help. I didn’t know that, about the encoding, and after learning it from you, I noticed that on this site, my encoding is set to UTF-8, automatically. But on my site, it switched to Western European. So I did a search, and found out how to set my page’s encoding to UTF-8. It now automatially opens with that encoding, and displays it all, just fine. Thanks again!
