how do I go about setting up home networking if I have satellite internet service (direcway). What do I have to buy etc.

I’ve had a high-speed cable connection for over 4 years now. The price is just way to high to keep it anymore. I have to have Internet access for work and school purposes. I ordered a land line only to find out that it isn’t provisioned to handle DSL, which is way cheaper than cable. So my only option is to go back down to dial-up. I got 6 months of AOL free when I just bought my laptop. Sure, I’ll save $45 a month for the next 6 months but how much is this going to cost me in lost time?

the two computers are connected through a router for the internet ability on each, now how can I hook up the brother hl1440 to print from both?

I live in the southern Philippines and, notwithstanding today, I am totally isolated from modern home computing. I am about to install a satellite dish and modem to obtain the Internet. I’d like to buy a state of the art PC to go with it, but I also want to be within the current technological mainstream in case I have troubles with certain components and have to fix them locally.

Has anyone had trouble with Comcast Cable? Internet access, cable tv, etc…?
