Need help setting up external modem on MacBook Pro, for now, I am using MSN Dialup.?
I have entered everything in the Network Settings window, when I connect, you can hear it dialing, it seems to connect, and then it shows “disconnecting” – authentication failed. Are there advanced setup instructions out there somewhere? or a ISP and DNS address available? I have tried to get help with MSN support for 4 days with no success.

In the IM preference tab under connections, my default country settings wont stick to USA?
It keeps defaulting to other countries and it wont let me save it to USA, and I live in Calif. what can be the problem? Ive emailed yahoo help months before and they say it was my ISP, but my ISP says my IP addresses are all in California. This affects how my launchcast music plays, makes it play like I have dialup and I dont, the song buffer for about 1-2 minutes before each one plays, and I have the highspeed cable ISP…. help!!
for that first reply, Im not computer illiterate! Dont assume all users never touched a computer before. I’ve tried all those settings that several times. it doesnt stick.

Can I use Usenet binary newsgroups for free?
I’m with Karoo as my ISP, and I want to see what all the fuss is about these newsgroup things, but seeing as torrents are free, I’m a little confused as to why you have to pay these, so does anyone know how to use them for free?

The below information was very interesting but I’m no further from understanding how you download movies and music through this way of media distribution, I’m not interested in the discussion side of things I just want to try out downloading in a different way, without the need to upload, as that is the way you get caught.

Is it possible to buy Satellite Internet from USA for use in Tamilnadu-Chennai?
rather than to use “Indian” ISP’s such as Satyam / BSNL etc?
{Tamilnadu is separate county – TSC – IG Slash Z}

i am going home for christmas break, and i need the internet, just dialup, what should i use for just a month?
i really dont want to get into a long contract w/ a ISP, but i really need the internet for just a month…what should to get?
im actually at college right now w/ T1, and my parents are computer illiterate so they definitely will not have internet, so ineed some dialup for the christmas break, and thats about a month….and my house is way out in the country….so all i need is some dialup to get me through
