Free newsgroup from my ISP question?
I am using optimum online’s free newsgroup server. Do you think they track your downloads and would you download stuff like movies/music or not?

How do I access email on this computer?
The ISP is AOL. Whenever someone tries to sign into a yahoo, hotmail, gmail, or even some personal business accounts, a “The page cannot be displayed” appears. I’ve tried altering the Internet Options in all ways I think would help, but I haven’t been able to rectify the issue.
Additional Details
The ISP is not down; websites can be accessed, but certain accounts cannot be logged onto.
The PC is not a public or institutional PC, but a personal PC that is being used at home.
Placing the security settings on low has not helped.
Opening the IE browser has not helped.

How do you effectively change ISP’s?
I recently purchased a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion a1230n. I used the AOL free offer that came with it and the Norton software as well. I then switched to Verizon/Yahoo when I changed from a dial-up to broadband DSL. In order to prevent any conflicts, I disabled the Norton software and activated the software that comes with Verizon. Since then, I have added a Logitech webcam and cannot send a video that I recorded no matter how I try to send it. I understand that it is small enough to send and I have worked extensively with Verizon to no avail. Can anyone help me?

How can I improve my wireless broadband connection speed?
my wireless broadband connection speed is abysmal. how can I identify whether the problem is with the router (US Robotics), wireless adapter (Linksys) or ISP (E7even, in the UK)?

Can’t stand the noise and sound of my modem dialing Pls Help!?
I just switched to AOL ISP and i have dialup (i will change to broadband soon) but can someone please if u can tell me how to mute my modem. I can’t stand the noise it makes when i click on connect. When i had Net Zero when i connected or set up i was able to mute my modem at the sign up screen now i don’t know with AOL cause i just turned over on Sat.9/23.
