i joined the group, added the server details and my log on info and i search for something and nothing comes up. what else do i have to do?

I just upgraded from 7.0 to 8.0 two nights ago and now I can’t log in. I’ve attempted to uninstall/reinstall but I’m thinking this has to do with my proxy/LAN thing? I go to connections but there isn’t an option to change from dialup to LAN. I’m really missing my friends and would love for someone to help me out! TIA!

A s/w that would keep a “record” a log of files that get copied especially during an installation of s/w or even an activeX or spyware.
so that I can manually remove some of the messy files that keek piling in my windows folder.

or a way to atleast monitor only the windows folder.

I cant log in gyache improved v.1.2.2
i am currently running linux ubuntu 9.10 karmic
and i have installed gyache improved v.1.2.2( its the only .deb working file for karmic) succesfully.
now the problem is i cant log in, well not with accounts that end in @sbcglobal.net
it works with other accounts like @yahoo.com
so is there any way to make it work with accounts that use @sbcglobal.net?
if not can someone else recommend me a good messenger program for ubuntu? i dont like pidgin because it looks so simple, is there any that is close to gyachi? pretty much imitates yahoo messenger
and installing yahoo messenger through wine is my last resort.

I got my laptop from office Windows Xp SP2 have to press ALT+CTRL+DEL and it had my user name password and domain.
i messed up the domain in trying to use my home printer.
Now the start sign on page when the computer starts has only user name and password and the domain label as well as the choice has disappered instead it has only user name and password . When I type in my password it shows an error and the computer does not let me log in.
What to do.
I have just joined the company a fe dyas back so wold like to resolve this on my own
