How do I use my .htaccess file to restrict access to my FTP? (see details)?

Example: A common hacker enters ftp://www.myexamplesite.com/ into their web browser and is allowed limited access into my ftp. How do i deny access to random internet hackers? I am perfectly fine with only allowing access using a FTP program and password and having no direct internet browser access.
Thanks in advance!

Why does Yahoo only provide 110 characters for posting questions and no decent online help service?

When I try to add an attachment to an e-mail, I get a pop-up asking me to log into ‘attach.ukl.mail.yahoo.com’. It asks for a user name, password and domain name. If I enter these details, it does not accept them. Is this a bogus site and if not, how do I get a user name and password to allow me to add an attachment? This pop-up only seems to appear when I reply to a message. If I add an attachment to a new message, everything goes as normal.
