I left my car in the parking lot of Bjs and Shoprite while going to the different section of the mall. I made a mistake by leaving the car there since the parking lot is not part of the mall. When I got back from the mall tow truck is ready to tow my car away, they offered me to pay the cash on the spot instead of the car getting impounded. I asked them who they work for and they told me that they work for Bjs and Shoprite. When I called the towing company they said they can’t talk over the phone… Sounded like a huge scam to me so I told them I was away for brief moment knowing that there was no security cameras around… then they pulled out their personal cam recorder saying that they have all the evidence in their portable camera… I didn’t want to go through whole process of my car being impounded so i gave them 120$. What I am trully worried is they have all my information. My name, address and drivers license number… What can they do with that information? These are some of things I found out about the company after getting back.

Advice — Towing fine for unauthorized…‎‎

I parked my U-Haul for few minutes in BJ parking lot to pick some stuff from an apartment nearby. Yeah its my mistake that i didnt check the No Parking board. Within 3 minutes a towing vehicle started hooking my vehicle. I ran to my rented U-Haul and asked the towing person not to tow my vehicle and that i would take the vehicle away, but he didn’t listen to me. He said he won’t unhook my vehicle unless i pay him $450. He also mentioned that if the vehicle goes to the towing station i will have to shell out at least $700. Having no option i ran to the wachovia bank and fetched $450 from ATM and gave it to him. I gave him the money coz i thought $450 is much better than paying $700. Is there anything i can do about this(I mean under new jersey law)? Can I file a lawsuite against the towing company (Danny Towing) for trying to tow my vehicle in-spite of me being there?‎

Danny’s Towing SCAM‎‎

I parked in the lot to buy some things from Bed, Bath & Beyond but made the mistake of dropping an umbrella off for my wife at her office 1st. When I got back to the lot my car was gone. 10 minutes and it was towed. I don’t know if the landlord or security company has a deal with the towing company or not, either way the merchants of the mall lost my business and I let them know it.‎

tow and get scammed. got voice mail from ‘wachovia bank’ about account activity. they panic ppl and hope some one would share the bank account details. surely pep boys and BJ’s temps are paid for tip offs. BJ’s manager clueless about what to do. another shop Shop Rite seems to be a third world gettho.‎

Was towed by them today‎‎

While the were “correct” in towing me – Parked at shoprite and went to the mall. It definitely felt like some kind of predatory towing operation. I was amazed the guy knew the details of my every move – i did try to fool them but guess I was out smarted. I parked my car started walking to the mall. Then I saw a nearby car being towed. I thought well, i better move my car so those two guy don’t see me. So i parked it at a different spot, went into Shoprite – then out and to the mall. The guy was able to tell me my steps exactly just to be funny. Cost me $152 – at least getting my car back was quick.‎
