My broadband provider tells me to turn off PC first before switching off the modem, But this is annoying, as I end up turning the PC off and then on just to get off the internet. My PC is Celeron (R) 2.5Ghz, and 256KB RAM. I am using WindowsXP.

When I first turn it on the Windows XP screen comes up,but is rolling.Then the screen goes dark,then back on,but again,w/the Windows logo rolling.

So, I have heard satellite internet sucks for gaming, and that in turn sucks for me. See I live in rural Oklahoma, a town that has aproximately 1,200 people. I need highspeed internet to play Ps2 and X360 games online (mainly shooters, and sports games). Does the lag/latency issue occur on all games…I really need to know because satellite is my only option. I am only 8,000 feet from DSL…but I can’t get it. I need help!!!

but the highlighting feature in every web browser is a distraction. Is there anyway that i can turn off the highlighting feature?

P.S. i tried googling it but i couldnt find a solution to the problem.
i need to be able to turn off highlighting on firefox browser without needing to change the settings of the browser. Eg. Going to Options and checking off preferences.
