I saw the Yahoo PC-to-Phone ad, and is says call anywhere in the world for less than one cent! So i was thinking if it is lesser than indian Telecom Tariff, Y dont i switch to Yahoo by using a broadband for outgoing calls!

It means that they could invade Tiawan and us not even see it coming. It means that our smart bombs would not work in Iraq if they so chose to shoot our stuff down. US troops would look at their GPS in the middle of the desert and see nothing. All of YOU would sign on to the internet only to see an error window. Most long distance calls would not work, since more of it it satellite now. We’ve been able to shoot down satellites since 1986, but CNN waited 48 hours to mention that fact just to scare people and attract more audience. I will say CNN SHOULD be scared. Without a comsat in orbit they are nothing. They could only broadcast to the Atlanta area a recieve nothing. Like WWII, this will become a race to see who can replace shot down satellites faster, just like it was with supply ships and U-boats in 1940. Now think. Who can crank out cheap electronics quicker, us or the Chinese and their billion-man slave army? We use fighter-borne rockets, but they can launch missles pretty fast

I am not surprised that we’re pissed that the Chinese have done this. I’d say we are more scared than pissed, though. Like when Russia got the bomb. We can only hope they get enough internet and cellphones that they don’t want to lose them all if we had to do the same in retaliation. That’s what would happen. Almost all phones, cable, certainly the internet and of course the military stuff would all go away if we got into that kinda shooting match with China. Our system is not ground based like the crude Chinese one. We strap a rocket onto an F-18, have it fly up as high as possible, then it shoots the rocket at the enemy sattelite. The Chinese have to erect a missle and go through all that trouble. We just scramble a squadron of planes and pop ‘em out of the sky. This was all on the news a decade ago. Wonder why CNN’s report did not mention that we have a much better way of doing it too. Trick’d be to replace them quick enough as they get zapped. (We also have a 747-based laser.)

my wireless broadband connection speed is abysmal. how can I identify whether the problem is with the router (US Robotics), wireless adapter (Linksys) or ISP (E7even, in the UK)?
