How do I reset my security settings to low in the internet properties and make it stay in the low setting?

I keep trying to reset the internet settings to “Low” under the Privacy and Security tabs in the Internet Properties and as soon as I change the settings to “Low” or “Medium-Low” then close the window, the settings automatically go back to “High”. This is preventing me from accessing some websites. This has become increasingly frustrating? Are these increased security features a bi-product of Windows XP Service Pack 2?

No background color on ANY web page, using ANY browser?

On a friend’s computer, running Windows XP, there is NEVER any background color on ANY web page, using either IE or Firefox. Everything else appears normal, but the background of every web page is always white. Any ideas?
Thanks for trying to help, maddog, but “properties” of WHAT? I can’t find the choices you described in Control Center or My Computer.

Can my hp psc 1110 printer, copier, scanner be reinstalled without software?

for some unexplained reason, after the initial installation of hp psc 1110. the software has been lost. Can this be re-installed on my Windows xp computer without the software? trying to download program to re-install from hp failed.
