I was just wondering because if you didnt do that then the cord would be running from the laptop across the floor.My friend told me she has a laptop and she has wirless high speed.We use to have a laptop and thats when we had regular dial-up and I remember running the phone cord to the laptop from the wall so basically it was dragging across the floor and that sucked.Anyway does your laptop also have to be set up to have wirless internet because I’ve been reading about laptops with WiFi,so if your laptop doesnt have that,does thatmean it cant go on the internet wirless?Also what companies provide wireless internet.My dad told me we cant get dsl where we live.We do have highspeed but its not from dsl its from a satellite.But I am wondering if I can get dsl wireless where we live.Anyway any answers would be very much appreciative!

i posted a question before and can’t for the life of me figure out how to connect to the wireless internet..I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, a Belkin router (also a Westell router but I don’t use them at the same time)..They are both security enabled..punched in the network key..got 5 nice green bars..computer tells me ‘limited or no connectivity’..so I must be missing something but I don’t know what..so now I just want to make the router non-security enabled..can someone help me out? Thanks in advance

I have a T-Mobile MDIII (Seimens I presume) pocket PC. Excellent connection to full time GPRS. There are times when I cannot get a wireless internet signal on the road and would like to use the Pocket PC GPRS connection on the laptop. Have active sync and wireless. If this is not possible, would sure like to know how to share a dialup using the pocket pc phone. It seems to have this as an option on connections, but seems a bit complex. Thanks for any help!

When I start downloading a movie or anything for that matter it will start out from about 50-70 kpbs but within seconds it drops to about low 30’s. What is the problem? I go to open Ebay which should open in about 18 sec. it takes over 60 sec. What is the problem? I called tech support ran 3 different speed test and they are all over the scale. Tech support told me to disable my firewall and leave it off. This did not speed up anything. Should I leave my firewall disabled or am I asking for problems doing this? Am I the only one having this problem with wildblue?

I currently have a DSL connection on my laptop but I use the wire that’s hooked up to the modem. I know that I have to get a wireless router to have wireless internet but what kind of router? Some say that they are for Cable/DSL or Broadband but what’s the difference if any at all? What do all the numbers and letters mean after the name of the router? Please help.
